Drawn to the parts of our landscapes that increasingly face sanitization, "Marginal" aims to capture in unorthodox ways little points of interest that characterize beloved cities but are often discarded to the margins or to the past.
"Marginal" takes its name from the work of artist Hélio Oiticica. His 1968 piece entitled "Seja marginal, seja herói" ("be marginal/an outlaw, be a hero" in English) became a major symbol and slogan of the countercultural and political movement that arose in the '60s against Brazil's military dictatorship.
